You now have a few more hours available on Wednesday 11/27 to get in that pre-Thanksgiving Day swim. David Zimmerman and a lifeguard will be at the pool from 8 am until 2 pm. This is in addition to the regularly scheduled 6 am masters workout. Happy Swimming, Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Week masters swim schedule

Here is the masters swim schedule for the week of Thanksgiving. Denise and Lloyd will be the point people since George will be out of town for a few days. Monday and Tuesday: normal schedule for all 3 masters workouts. Wednesday, November 27: 6 am masters swim only. No lunch, no evening swims. Thanksgiving Day: No swim Black Friday: 6 am swim only. No lunch, no evening group. Saturday, November 30: normal Saturday workout time, 8 am. Your swimming family, friends, either out of town or in town, are welcome to join you at the pool. Please make sure they pay the drop in fee on line at jenkscommunityed.com. ALSO: you can now RSVP for the Masters Christmas Party, December 14th at Perryman Ranch. Andrea Gillman needs your reservation by December 9th so she can order the food. Please go to jenkscommunityed.com to sign up. Tulsa Masters 2013 Annual Meeting Minutes‏

Hello, Tulsa Masters swimmers Attached are the minutes from the annual club meeting held November 2. Thanks to everyone who attended. I appreciate your willingness to be involved. Other things you might want to know: 1) RENEW your USMS membership for 2014, www.usms.org/reg. If you swim at the Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center in a masters workout, you are required by JCE to be a member of USMS- even for those of us who will never participate in a swim meet or any other masters sanctioned event.. This same rule applies to the kids who swim in age group workouts, they must be members of USA Swimming, even if they are not yet ready for a USA Swimming sanctioned meet. 2)CHRISTMAS PARTY-- DECEMBER 14th --- PERRYMAN RANCH We will RSVP again this year through JCE. Watch for my email to tell you when it is ready to go. We need RSVPs in order to order the food. All the details coming soon. Please open that email! :) 3)College Dual Meet at the Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center, December 14-15. Texas Christian University vs Missouri State. This will be a fun event to watch! There hasn't been a college meet in the Tulsa area in ???? years! Each of these teams recruits swimmers from the Tulsa area. I know Missouri State currently has at least one Tulsa swimmer on the team. 4)Lighthouse Meet SEVEN Tulsa Masters members (plus a support crew) travelled to OKC on November 9th for the Lighthouse meet. We all had fun. Congrats to Jake Snow for swimming in his first masters meet! 5) Last but never the least: Congrats to Andrea Gillman for her state record setting performance in the 400 IM this weekend at the JTSC Gobbler Meet. Andrea's husband, 2 kids, high school coach, and masters coach (George!) all witnessed her incredible swim. She SAYS she will never swim it again! Jenks Pool Announcements

Dear Masters Swimmers, I wanted to post a few announcements that will help you plan the next several weeks. First: Practice on Saturday, 16th November WILL go on as planned, starting at 8am. However, it will be a SHORTER practice, with everyone out of the pool at 8:55am (warm-up for the meet starts at 9:00am). Additionally, plan to use the UPPER Locker Rooms (by the Instructional Pool) since the Competition Pool lockers will be full of kids for the meet. Swimming lessons start for children at 9:15 in the Instructional Pool, so there may be a few younger swimmers and parents in those locker rooms from about 9-9:30. Second: Rark and Rec meets are over for the Fall, so Tuesday evening practices will go on as usual. Third: High School meet is scheduled for November 21st, so that evening practice is cancelled. Fourth: I have a working calendar for events in the Aquatic Center. Please go to www.jenksps.org. At the site, look under the "District" banner on the right, then a drop-down menu will open with a heading for the Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center. There, you will find a calendar that should be configured to run from Monday-Saturday weekly. Just choose the "week" option on the calendar to see what is scheduled that week. Fourth (a): I am working on a Thanksgiving schedule with Lloyd Landreth and Denise Smart. Weekly Announcements‏

Masters Swimmers: I have a few announcements for this week. 1) There will be a Parks and Recreation meet here on Tuesday afternoon: we will have use of the pool, but there will be fewer parking spaces available, and more kids in and out of the locker rooms. 2) I have posted an Aquatic Center calendar at http://www.jenksps.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/District%7CJenks%20Trojan%20Aquatic%20Center 3) Don't forget: if you haven't paid for October or November, now is the time.
