Hey, Tulsa swimmers! REMINDERS! Sign up for Swim-a-Roo NOW. You aren't a 'real' TULSA swimmer until you've experienced swimming at McClure Park Pool! Join us for the 60th Annual Swim-a-roo, July 8. Hey, Tulsa swimmers! TWO FUN SWIMMING EVENTS IN THE TULSA AREA! 1) ENTER NOW-- EMAIL DENISE SMART TODAY and be a part of the Tulsa Masters Swim-a-roo team! JULY 8-- MONDAY-- 5:30 - 9 pm -60th Annual SWIM-A-ROO Meet at McClure Park Pool, 50 meter, outdoor pool. No qualifying times, low key, fun meet. The only events to choose from are 50s, one of each stroke. Email DENISE SMART NOW if you want to participate! I need your entry by June 28th! I will submit our team entries. It has been 14 years since a Zone meet has been held in Oklahoma, and never has it been held in the Tulsa area. We need ALL OF YOU to get involved to help make this event a success. Go to www.okswim.org for the meet info, with a link to both the online entry and the paper entry. NO QUALIFYING TIMES. EVERYONE is eligible and 'good enough' to swim in this meet. Tulsa Masters has a good chance to win the team division, but we need YOU to enter the meet!! We'll need lots of VOLUNTEERS as well. Stay tuned for future emails on how you can help. Stormy Weather‏

Masters Swimmers: This morning, we experienced a quirk of OK weather. Thunderstorms passed over Jenks just as the pool was to open for Early Riser and Masters swim practice sessions. The Early Riser session was cancelled, and a sign was placed on the door indicating that the pool was closed. I opened the pool at 6am and we proceeded with practice. I tracked the storms and lightening strikes, and determined that the pool was safe. Conditions were unsafe earlier, while the storm was directly over Jenks. I have started to implement a policy that states that we will close the pool during electrical storms. Usually, this will affect mid-day and afternoon swim times, but is designed for any hours of operation. Masters Swimmers, If you plan to come to the pool, please check weather conditions before you leave. If the storm track, including electrical activity, is directly over Jenks or nearby, we will cancel sessions. As with today, however, if the storm is past, we will re-open.
